As I write this, he would have been
dead under a grave but he is not. I feel
that my true inspiration is from a brave man, a man that has survived not from
his family or money, but from himself. Just him alone, and his name was Gilad
Shalit. His life story (luckily not completed yet) is a story worth a book, but
not just any book, a classic book. He was born on the 28th August 1986 and was
a soldier in the Israeli army but was captured and taken hostage near Gaza on
the Israeli border on the 25 June 2006 by Palestinians. He was held captive for
five years, with hardly any food to live on and kept in unthinkable conditions
- but he didn't give up. You and I would think, "There’s no way I'm
getting out of here, let alone alive!" Gilad Shalit though is quite
different to any of us, he is a hero and that is why Israel gave up 1027
Palestinian prisoners in order for Gilad to come back!
